Organized in Topeka, Kan., in 1902 to unite all native Kansans in "one harmonious body," and to labor for the best interests of the State; dissolved shortly thereafter. In 1915 the Native Daughters of Kansas was re-established by Mrs. DeWitt C. Nellis of Topeka; this group was a patriotic organization, and its purpose was to preserve Kansas history, show loyalty to Kansas traditions, honor pioneer ancestors, and instill ideals of patriotism in youth.
